Who is clay shooting suitable for?
Clay pigeon shooting is currently enjoyed by all, from 10 to 80 year
olds, both male and female. You don't need any special skills or
experience, our expert instructors will be with you at all times and all
equipment is provided so you will not have to worry about that either!
What about safety?
In Shooting SAFETY IS
What sort of shooting can I expect?
The type of Shooting is based around a Clay Shooting discipline called
Sporting (ESP) where targets are thrown at different angles,
distances and speeds. These targets roughly represent quarry that would
be shot at in the field.
Do I have to have a shotgun license
to shoot?
All of our Shooting Grounds have an
exemption certificate, which allows customers who do not possess a
shotgun license to shoot under our Instructors supervision.
But if you are a prohibited
person (this is someone who has a criminal record you are not permitted to
shoot)
What type of gun and ammunition will we use?
Most shooting grounds use 12 or 20 Bore Over and Under shotguns which
are specially design for shooting clays.
We shoot clays with shotgun cartridges or shells, these are filled with
small metal pellets.
Yes there is a certain amount of recoil with shotguns, but nothing to be
concerned with, most shooting grounds use low recoil cartridges which
reduces recoil to minimum.
Can I bring my friends to watch?
Spectators are more than welcome. Please advise us in advance.
Can I get refreshments?
Tea and Coffee is included free of charge. Lunch can also be arranged,
please ask for pricing and availability
Do I need any special clothing?
We ask you to dress suitably for the countryside and time of the year. We recommend sturdy walking type shoes/boots, sunglasses and a waterproof Jacket
Do I need any
previous experience?
No experience is
required; the majority of our customers are complete novices and never
have held or shot a gun before.
What days are you open?
We are open every Tuesday to Saturday
(subject to availability)
Do I have to book to use the
facility?

soon as you have a date in mind to order to avoid disappointment. In
order to secure your booking we ask for a £10 per person deposit and the
remaining balance due 10 working days prior to your event.
When I get to the facility what do I
need to do?
On arrival please report to the club house, here you will find your
Instructor who will greet you and instruct you further.
